Curves, Culture, Connection
About this Adventure
Experience an unforgettable 7-day Journey through the wild, winding heart of Northern Thailand!
Join Borderless Female Bikers – a fully licensed women-only motorcycle adventure brand led by Barbora (Baška) and a Thai female guide.
Ride ~1,100 km across some of Southeast Asia’s most dramatic landscapes: the legendary Mae Hong Son Loop with its 1,800+ curves, the peaks of Doi Inthanon (Thailand’s highest mountain at 2,565 m), the hippie haven of Pai, hidden tea villages near the Myanmar border, and the limestone giant of Chiang Dao.
Along the way, explore underground cave rivers by lantern light, soak in jungle hot springs, raft Northern Thailand’s best whitewater rapids, and walk barefoot up a sticky waterfall.
Ride a Honda CB500X adventure bike (or a lower-seat alternative for shorter riders), well-maintained and ready for the twists and turns ahead. This tour is designed for women with at least one season of riding experience who are comfortable in the saddle for up to five hours a day.
But at its core, this journey is about far more than the road. It’s about real moments, local connection, mountain silences, and the kind of experiences that stay with you long after you’re home.
Let Northern Thailand awaken the adventurer in you.

Destination
Northern Thailand is not just a destination – it’s a true paradise for motorcyclists. The region is highly mountainous, which means one thing above all: curves, curves, and more curves.
Almost every road feels like it was made specifically for motorcycles. Whether you’re planning a multi-day motorcycle tour through Thailand or just a short afternoon ride, the routes here will stay with you long after you’ve left.
Our Thai guide will show you the best routes, for example around the legendary Mae Hong Son. Northern Thailand offers some of the best motorcycle adventures in Southeast Asia.
From perfectly paved curves and remote villages to jungle hot springs and mountain temples – this region truly has it all.
Tour Programme
Day 0: Arrival in Northern Thailand
Since our tour starts in Chiang Mai, you should arrive there no later than the day before the first day of the tour. Baška from Borderless Female Bikers will assist you with tips and recommendations on how to get from the airport to your accommodation, as well as suggestions for food, drinks, and places to stay.
Day 1: Mae Hong Son Loop & Doi Inthanon
We hit the road and start our holiday with the legendary Mae Hong Son Loop. Our first destination is Doi Inthanon National Park, where we slow the pace and fully enjoy Thailand’s highest mountain area.
Throughout the day, we’ll chase waterfalls, stopping at some of the region’s most beautiful cascades, and take a short hike to panoramic viewpoints overlooking endless mountain ranges. Before sunset, we’ll reach the summit of Doi Inthanon and end the day sleeping in the mountains, surrounded by cool air and forest silence.
We’ll visit a giant white Buddha statue, a hidden gem where we’ll likely have the place all to ourselves.
Fun facts:
Thailand’s Rooftop at 2,565 meters, Doi Inthanon is Thailand’s highest peak, and temperatures here can drop to near freezing.
Waterfall Wonderland: This region has over 50 waterfalls, with some of the most famous being Wachirathan, Siriphum, and Mae Klang. All perfect for a refreshing break.
Day 2: Waterfalls, Long Mountain Rider & Tea Villages
After waking up in the mountains, we continue riding through forested roads and remote highland villages. This is one of our longest riding days, but also one of the most scenic.
Midway, we’ll take a break at the most remote, tucked-away coffee shop, where the super chill owner makes an incredible Thai tea with coconut milk. It’s a must-try!
Along the way, we’ll pass through areas influenced by Thai-Chinese culture before reaching Ban Rak Thai, a charming village near the Myanmar border. Here, we’ll taste some of Thailand’s finest tea, wander through the village, and enjoy a peaceful evening by the lake, staying overnight right in the heart of the village.
Fun facts:
1,864 Curves to Mae Hong Son: This route is famous for its endless twists and turns. Riders from all over the world come just for the thrill of these roads.
Tea & Thai-Chinese Culture: The region around Mae Hong Son has strong Yunnanese influences, thanks to former Chinese soldiers who settled here in the 1940s.
Day 3: Caves, Mountain Views & The Road To Pai
We leave Ban Rak Thai in the morning and head west through winding mountain roads.
Our first major stop is Nam Lod Cave, where we explore its massive chambers and underground river. Guided by locals and lantern light, we experience one of the most impressive cave systems in Thailand.
Continuing toward Pai, we stop in Ban Jabo, a small Lahu village perched high above the valley. Here, we take a break for coffee with absolutely beautiful views.
By afternoon, we roll into Pai, the laid-back mountain town known for its hippie vibes and great cafés. There’s time to relax, explore town, or chill by the pool before heading out for sunset at Pai Canyon. We end the day with a visit to a massive Buddha statue and a stroll through Pai’s famous night market.
Fun facts:
A cave with a river Inside -Nam Lod Cave- has a navigable river running through it, and the best way to explore it is by bamboo raft, paddled by locals using lanterns for light.
Pai’s Hippie Past: Once a quiet farming town, Pai became a backpacker favourite and is now known for its creative cafés, night market, and relaxed mountain vibe.
Day 4: Jungle Roads, Hot Springs & Off-The-Radar Thailand
This day is all about flowing roads, hidden stops, and places most travellers never reach.
One of our highlights is a stop at Pong Dueat Hot Spring, a natural geyser hidden deep in the forest. Here, we can soak in hot mineral pools and even cook eggs in the bubbling water, which reaches temperatures of up to 90°C.
From there, we ride through lush jungle roads with almost no traffic, surrounded by thick greenery and mountain silence. By afternoon, we arrive in the Kuet Chang area, a quiet riverside region known mainly to travellers coming for whitewater rafting. Far from busy towns, this is a place where nature sets the rhythm and the nights are peaceful.
Fun facts:
A Natural Geyser -Pong Dueat Hot Spring- is one of the few geysers in Thailand, with mineral-rich water so hot it’s traditionally used for cooking eggs.
The Mae Taeng River is Northern Thailand’s top spot for rafting, offering rapids also for beginners.
Day 5: Whitewater Adventure & Chiang Dao
We spend most of the day on the river, whitewater rafting, finishing in the early afternoon. After that, we hop back on our bikes and ride toward Chiang Dao, following scenic mountain roads with wide-open views.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Chiang Dao, a quiet mountain town dominated by the massive limestone peak of Doi Luang.
Fun facts:
The Limestone Giant: Chiang Dao’s massive mountain, Doi Luang, is Thailand’s third tallest peak and dominates the skyline for kilometres.
Day 6: Sunrise Views & Sticky Waterfall
We start the day early with a sunrise ride to the Doi Luang Chiang Dao Viewpoint, where the massive limestone peak slowly reveals itself as the light changes. It’s a quiet, powerful way to begin the day.
From Chiang Dao, we ride south on beautiful mountain roads toward one of Northern Thailand’s most unique natural sights: Buatong Sticky Waterfall. Here, we take our time climbing the waterfall barefoot, using the naturally grippy limestone surface.
Continuing on, we cross the suspension bridge and make our way into Mae Kampong, a charming mountain village hidden in the forest.
Fun facts:
Limestone Magic: Sticky Waterfall is coated with mineral deposits that make the rocks naturally non-slip, allowing you to walk straight up the flowing water.
Mae Kampong Life: This village is known for its traditional wooden houses, coffee culture, and cool mountain climate, making it a favourite local escape from Chiang Mai.
Day 7: Coffee Walks, Caves, Cacao and a Blessing Before Goodbye
We begin our final day with a relaxed morning walk through Mae Kampong, stopping for coffee and enjoying the slow rhythm of village life.
From here, we ride to Muang On Cave and its viewpoint, climbing up for panoramic views over the surrounding countryside before descending back down.
Our next stop is Skugga Estate, where we dive into the world of Thai cacao. We’ll learn how cacao is grown and processed, see the production up close, and enjoy freshly made cacao drinks straight from the source.
Before returning to Chiang Mai, we stop at Wat Sri Don Moon, where we buy traditional flags based on our birth dates and hang them at the temple to receive a blessing from Buddha and a bit of extra luck for the road ahead.
From here, we make our way back to Chiang Mai, returning the motorcycles and closing the journey where it began.
Fun facts:
Cacao in Thailand: Northern Thailand’s climate is surprisingly well-suited for high-quality cacao, and small farms like Skugga are putting Thai chocolate on the global map.
Temple Traditions: Hanging prayer flags based on birth dates is a local Buddhist ritual believed to bring protection, balance, and good fortune.
